Toys for Tots Drive - December 18, 2009

Bent Tree CDC did a wonderful job this year in helping less privileged families. The "Toys for Tots" drive was a big success and the "Mitten Tree" was covered in brightly colored mittens and gloves that will keep Dallas area children warm this winter. Bent Tree is so very glad we can help Dallas area children have a warm and fun-filled season! Come join us and be a part of Bent Tree Child Development Center where we make a difference in the lives of children in our school and in the community.

Addison Holiday Brunch - December 12, 2009

This weeks event was held in the Water Tower Theatre and sponsored by the City of Addison. This was the annual Addison Holiday Brunch for residents and business owners. Every year, Bent Tree Child Development Center sets up a booth to participate in the event by decorating gingerbread men with the local children. We normally get a few enrollments from this event. This year, we added a new flare to our usual itinerary. We added a "Showcase table" with more info and a huge popcorn bowl filled with popcorn packages, a "G" DVD and a few other bits all wrapped beautifully for parents to fill out information cards and participate in a free drawing to win the popcorn package. It was a great success! We got over 27 information cards, (10 of which we can meet their needs) and we served over 130 children! (and grown-ups made them too!)

Thanksgiving Feast - November 23, 2009

Here are some pictures of families feasting at Bent Tree. We had everyone here from Parents, to Aunts, Uncles and Grandparents. It was a blessing to have all our wonderful families participate and bring so many lovely homemade dishes!

Pumpkin Parade - October 30, 2009

This is our Fall Festival and a huge event for our center. Most every parent shows up to help or just trick or treat with their child. Many parents dress up and pass out candy. We have carnival games on each playground and a decorated door competition.

Community Helpers Week - October 5-9, 2009

During community helpers week, we invite local doctors, vets, police and fire personnel into our school to teach the children a little bit about what they do and why they do it. Bent Tree believes children learn by doing. The philosophy of having community helpers bring in equipment and allowing children to have a "Hands on" experience falls in line with our belief in teaching the children about the world around them by allowing them to touch, taste, feel and explore.
