Dear Prospective Families,
My name is Mary Barter. I have been with Bent Tree Child Development Center since June 2008. It is a great joy to work with the amazing team of degreed educators at Bent Tree and a blessing to know all of our wonderful students!
I went to Our Lady of the Lake University and studied Child Psychology and minored in Theology. I have over 20 years experience working with children. I began working in early childhood after my university studies in 1991. In 1997, I married and moved to the UK where I taught Religious Studies and European History at the high school level. I soon moved to be Deputy Head of 250 ninth-graders and the Head of King House along with my regular teaching duties. This was a fabulous experience and I will cherish it always.
My children and I returned to the United States in 2006. I began working for our Parent Company, Phoenix Children’s Academy in 2007 as a trainer for all newly-hired teachers. The opportunity to be Director at Bent Tree was given to me in 2008 and I enjoy my stellar teaching team and esteemed families very much.
